The camp uniquely blends robotics engineering and coding with creative storytelling, physical activity, and social-emotional learning, offering a holistic and engaging summer experience.
Students at the Brains & Motion Education Robotics with Dash Robots camp embark on a journey of coding and creativity. They explore robotics engineering by programming Dash and Wonder robots to navigate environments and solve narrative-based challenges. Campers will use craft supplies to build immersive worlds and maps for their Dash robots to navigate through stories they create. Using three unique coding platforms, students will learn about algorithms and coding in the Path App, practice design thinking, and discover engineering principles to outfit Dash to solve challenges. The camp focuses on hands-on activities, encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and technological proficiency. Students will acquire foundational skills in robotics engineering, including understanding robotic design basics, programming movements and responses, and applying these skills to solve challenges. The program also integrates physical development and team collaboration through active sports and games, fostering social skills like teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship. Families are invited to an end-of-week showcase to see their young engineers' creations.
A typical day includes diving into narrative challenges, building environments for Dash robots, and programming them using various coding apps. Campers also participate in active sports, big camp games, and outdoor exploration to balance screen time with physical activity and social interaction.
This camp is best for curious and active elementary-aged students (grades 2-3) who are interested in coding, robotics, and hands-on problem-solving.
