About this camp

Camp Invention offers young innovators in grades K-6 a week of hands-on STEM challenges designed to build confidence, persistence, and creative problem-solving skills. The program, inspired by National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees, provides a fresh curriculum each year with new activities. Campers engage in various modules that encourage exploration, experimentation, and creation.

Activities often include exploring forensic science with robotic capybaras, experimenting with physics and entrepreneurship by designing billboard boats, building and launching DIY rockets for space exploration, and creating wearable cryptography devices to protect inventions. Through these challenges, children learn to collaborate, develop prototypes, and apply design thinking processes. The program aims to prevent summer learning loss and foster a lifelong love for STEM by making learning fun and engaging.

What a typical day looks like

A typical day at Camp Invention begins with sign-in and a warm-up activity at Base Camp with their age group. Campers then rotate through two different hands-on STEM experiences in the morning, followed by a lunch break and outdoor games. The afternoon includes two more exciting experiences before regrouping at Base Camp for a final problem-solving challenge and parent pick-up.
