About this camp

The Spelman College PreFreshman Experience (PFx) is a one-week virtual program designed for incoming HBCU freshmen interested in computer science, data science, AI, technology, or social impact. Participants will engage in daily team meetings and working sessions, attend panels and info sessions focused on college and career success, and explore real-world applications of data, AI, and technology. The program emphasizes hands-on experience with data projects connected to social impact and community change. Students will work alongside current HBCU student mentors and HBCU faculty members to develop solutions for societal challenges. The program culminates in a final project presentation, allowing students to apply their gained skills in a practical setting and network with industry leaders, researchers, and HBCU alumni.
